The Annual Monetary Studies Conference is the oldest and best established academic conference of economists in the Caribbean. Since its establishment in 1968 it has generated an impressive catalogue of economic research. Each year the conference attracts two dozen or more presentations dealing with broadly defined themes.
Many of the research papers are published as CCMS monographs such as the Journal of Business, Finance and Economics in Emerging Economies, special issues of the journal Social and Economic Studies from the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies and in many other academic publications.
The Caribbean Business Executive Seminar provides information and analysis that private financial institutions find helpful in budgeting and planning for the development of their marketing strategies and future operations. The seminars deals with topical issues and feature distinguished regional and international presenters.
Since the 3rd Biennial International Business, Banking & Finance Conference in 2009, the Centre has been partnering with the Department of Management Studies and Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies to plan the event. This conference servers as a forum for the exchange of ideas on critical business, banking and financial issues facing emerging economies.
The past conference presentations are hosted on the University of the West Indies website but we provide links here for your convenience. In addition videos of the conference are hosted on our youtube site so feel free to subscribe.
On occasion the Centre hosts various workshops to facilitate training and coordination among the regions Central Banks and Finance professionals. Most of these are private, but we endeavor to publish selected material.
